Ok you guys! Really cool news to share here!
So a little while ago I submitted some of our work to the "National Geographic International Photo Contest". And HOLY COW! They are featuring one of our photos in their galleries. Now considering how many hundreds, probably thousands, of photos are submitted every day....uhh, yea...we are SO honored and humbled to be amongst such talented people!
Here is the photo which has been featured. I am pretty sure that Justin took this on a family outing to our fav. beach town, Capitola!
And to see this same photo but on the NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC website (again, WOWOWOWOWOW)...you need to click on the below link and in the drop down menu select "Week 2" and ours is the 3rd photo of the green vines and flowers.

Uhh, WOW!

My Boy and I
Thursday, August 28, 2008
It seems like it's been a little while since i've shared a few shots of our little man. And, of course, nothing can brighten up a day like the little dude. So this is a family post.
This morning, my boy and I decided to take a stroll bright and early (to beat this crazy heat we've been having). We left the stroller at home and just hit the pavement. Stopping every once in a while to smell the flowers or play with the rocks..talk to the kittens, and say Hi to the garbage men. We had a lovely time and got some nice shots along the way.
here is a little collage of what one can find in your own backyard...or in our case..in our neighbors front yard.
Isaac...in a rare moment of staying in one spot. I have to mention that the last few weeks he's gotten into an interesting habit of RUNNING AWAY FROM ME AT FULL SPEED! So imagine my surprise when he sat down and stayed there (for 10 seconds at least). So these were taken super fast...still cute though.
And hey, look at this! My boy and I :)....ok, so he is not actually this tall...and i had a ton of stuff on my pockets...but it's us, and i love it!

Something New!
Tuesday, August 26, 2008
We have something fun to tell you all. We are jumping right into a new adventure! It's just something fun for us to do and share with all of you....am I being cryptic?? Ok, let's make things easy....just head on over to this link to see what i'm talking about!
And of course, what's a post without a photo.
This weekend we drove to Roseville to visit my big bro and family. We had a fabulous time and on the way back saw this beautiful Sunflower field. Now, i don't know about you all....but it's a rare site around these parts! So i made my poor dad pull over in the middle of the freeway so I could take some shots. LOL....the things we do for our art.

I have to share this photo that J took the other day while hiking. There is something about it that just makes me stop and stare. The old, abandoned shack and the burst of sunshine. Such a beautiful contrast...and we all know how much i love me some sunflare ;)
and I couldn't resist one more of the awesome family from last Saturday. I mean, look at these two!! hot hot hot

Family...there is nothing better!
Saturday, August 16, 2008
Today we had a really fun opportunity to photograph a family who was getting together for a small family reunion! There were two birthdays being celebrated, kids who flew in from out of town, and out of the COUNTRY to surprise their Dad on his birthday! How seriously COOL is that?!?! I love it....and he had no idea :)
Anyway, we had a lot of fun shooting a bunch of different combinations of different people. Here is a sneak peak at a few favorites so far...(though I still have lots and lots to proof and edit). Thank you "Y" family for including us in your special day...we hope you love your sneak peak :)
This is my FAVORITE sibling shot ever! Seriously, i love it and may just have to use it in some future marketing materials!
10 yrs old and beautiful already..
A&Z flew all the way from London!!!!
Look at her eyes!! GORGEOUS :)
S&V, all the way from New York! Workin' it.....how hot are they!
Sisters, lovin' each other...
The next 3 are some family groupings....

Grandparents!
Saturday, August 9, 2008
This morning I had a chance to photograph this great family! They are neighbors and dear friends of my parents and their grandson is visiting from the city (SF for those of you not local). I just love the connection between a grandparent and a grandchild. It's such a cool, unique bond! And i'm glad i was able to capture it for these guys :)
First we got a few shots of grandma and the little man, as you can see...she makes him laugh!
And he likes to tell her stories
And then it was time for Grandpa to jump in for a few shots...
Two serious men...having a serious conversation!

Vintage, Baby!
Sunday, August 3, 2008
When I asked J what I should write in today's blog post..he said "Tell them that Daddy is sharing his passion for vintage cars with his little guy!"
So there you have it dear friends, the passion has been shared and Isaac is hooked. This morning, J, Isaac, Grandma M and I went to the local vintage car show. J found out about it in some newspaper and was SO excited! Now, i don't know much about cars, but i gotta say...if they weren't gas guzzlers and weren't so expensive to fix...i would really not mind driving a Corvette Roadster, or Cobra...or that Bentley you'll see in the photos. Yea, they sure knew how to style cars back in the day :)
p.s. i've decided that posting a collage is a fun way to share more pictures...what do you think?
Um, GORGEOUS
They had old motorcycles too..and i LOVED that one of the cars had a tiny vase with fresh yellow flowers (left photo)! It's all in the details :)
Ok, and this is RARE....infact the last time we had a photo of the 3 of us was at Thanksgiving!!!!!!! SO not cool. So here is a snap of our little family...courtesy of Grandma M, a budding professional photographer :)
