Tiburon ~ Bay Area Photography

Monday, September 28, 2009

This weekend we had family visiting from out of town and we took the opportunity to visit a beautiful little town just north of San Francisco: Tiburon, CA! It's a bit of a drive for us but always a really fun visit...

Isaac especially had a great time..because his best buddy (and cousin) was here!

Here are the two monkeys...rockin' the Jack Nicholson sunglasses..oh to be three again :)

A Moment ~ Bay Area Photography, Mountain View

Saturday, September 26, 2009

"Brother and sister, together as friends, ready to face whatever life sends. Joy and laughter or tears and strife, holding hands tightly as we dance through life."
Author: Suzie Huitt

As we were getting ready to wrap up this session....I peaked over my shoulder and saw little R giving his big sister a flower! It was the sweetest thing ever and I am so glad I caught this moment on camera!

The Next Becks - Birthday Wishes ~ Bay Area Photography, Family

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Today is a big day!!! It's J's bday :) That's right folks....we are celebrating a 30-something birthday today...how you ask? Well...by taking our little dude to his VERY FIRST soccer class :)

I can't believe my kid is old enough to play soccer! When did this happen :) J took the day off today and was able to come with us, which was super fun..especially for Isaac!

Here is what he learned:

No Hands in Soccer
The Soccer Stance
Dribbling the ball (did you know they call it dribbling, like in basketball? i didn't)
And scoring the goal of course

I have a feeling he'll get really into it...at least I hope he does! I'm ready to be the soccer mom. HA!

Flowers from grandma...

The boys :)

And finally, the future Beckham in training :) He's definitely cute enough....gotta work on the soccer skills though

Thanks for checking in guys :-) And feel free to leave some blog lovin' (i.e. comments). I bet J would love to hear your birthday wishes!!

Sibling Love - Bay Area Photography, Family

Monday, September 21, 2009

As part of a brother/sister duo myself...I was so excited when A contacted me about photographing her two little ones. I always love photographing siblings and capturing that relationship that is so unique between brothers and sisters! So needless to say, I was looking forward to this session. And boy was I right!!! These two are very possibly the most well-behaved kids I've ever photographed. (And I'm not just saying that)....they are 5 and 2 years old, which could be a difficult age combo...but they made it so easy!

K Family, you were such a joy to work with! Here is your sneak peek :) Enjoy!

LOOOOVE! Look at these gorgeous kids! Seriously.....they must have some good genes in this family!

Big sister M was amazing. She did exactly what I asked her..all while trying to make her little brother smile. Super smart girl with the sweetest smile ever...

Photobucket

And the little man! What can I say about him.....I pretty much fell in love! And apparently he did too since at the end of our session he kept saying "I want to go home with Monica!" (ok ok....Veronica might be hard for a 2 yr old to say)

And last....something about this shot that just gets me. It's not a 'look at the lens and smile' kind of shot...but there is emotion..and i love it!

Forgot to mention...these were taken at Gamble Gardens in PA...y'all know I love that place!

Red! - Bay Area Photography, Family

Saturday, September 19, 2009

This morning I had a super fun time photographing the beautiful S family! (it's the session that I had to reschedule, and was SO excited that these guys were so flexible with their time).

Anyway, when mommy J told me that her little girl was a a redhead with blue eyes...well, let's just say I knew we'd have a blast....and we did! Now it's been a while since I've photographed a 17 month old...and I'd forgotten how full of energy this age group is. In fact, after every photo you see here little Eva was off running! And we all ran after her :)....so yes, I'm exhausted..but she couldn't have been more beautiful. And mom and dad were pretty great too!

J&S...here is your sneak peek! Enjoy!!

Let's start with a a head shot....how lovely is this girl?
Photobucket

A family shot that I absolutely love and adore!
Photobucket

Photobucket

Oh my gosh, do I love this shot or what! I just kept shooting and shooting because she was having such a great time here
Photobucket

Photobucket

A little wacky, but I kinda love it anyway :) Especially the way Eva is 'posing' here...
Photobucket

A little more traditional
Photobucket

Can't forget mom and dad :) (By the way, J went to school at this University (Santa Clara)...it was my first time shooting here and I think It will definitely go on the list of possibilities in the future)
Photobucket

When I got to the campus I was a little bit early..and as I was waiting for the S family to show up...I thought I'd take a few shots of the Mission...the sky was so beautiful this morning...here is just a little taste of what I saw...more to come later.

Thanks for looking!

Germs and the Argentine Tango ~ Bay Area Photography, Family

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Well, we're alive. We're still around...but it has NOT been a fun week! Last week, out of nowhere...I woke up completely sick :( To the point where I had to reschedule photo shoots, and we had to cancel plans with friends that we had forever...GRRR, i caught some bug that would NOT go away. It didn't help that during the days, I had a toddler who was bouncing off the walls with energy..while all I could do was lay on the couch. Well, days go by...I'm starting to feel better and of course, the little guy gets sick. I was hoping he might escape my germs somehow...but alas, that was not meant to be.

SO, here we are...finally feeling better :) And before we get back to the client photos this weekend, here are a few of the energizer bunny at our local park the other day...he couldn't figure out why in the world we were taking pictures instead of heading to the playground...

Watching some kids play with their dog....love his face here
Photobucket

Looking at the same people (i have a picture of him from about 2 years ago....almost at this exact spot....I should dig it out for comparison)
Photobucket

Love the bokeh! (and my 85mm)
Photobucket

Oh, and this is kind of random but...a few wks ago, we had a big party for my dad (remember...his birthday!)..anyway, we surprised him with an Argentine tango...performed by yours truly! Here is a shot of the big event....photo curtesy of J! My instructor/partner was Juan De Dios of Arthur Murray fame. (Really, if you are ever thinking of taking some ballroom lessons, he's your man!)

Ok, doesn't this shot look like it belongs in a magazine as a perfume ad for something fabulous like Eternity....or Burberry or something. I L.O.V.E this photo!!!

Great Expectations - Bay Area Photography, Family

Monday, September 7, 2009

This morning, I was lucky enough to photograph and amazing couple who are expecting their first child...a baby girl. J is due in just about 3 weeks, and I can't believe how willing she was to do whatever I asked: sit, stand, lay down....Seriously, at 8 months I think I could barely move :) Anyway, they are both beautiful and ridiculously photogenic. Yea, I get pretty lucky with gorgeous clients, eh?

Anyway, J&A thank you so much for welcoming us into your home (and feeding us the yummy food!!!) I had an absolute blast getting to know you and you really made the photography part easy! I CAN'T wait until the little one makes her grand entrance! Enjoy your sneak peek :)

Beautiful Mama

I am really amazed at what Ultra Sound photos look like these days! You can see her perfectly!! Look close :)

A was such a good sport! I asked him to do some silly stuff (sorry A!)...but he was great!

This photo says so much

And a few portraits...V&J style

And last but not least...

Magical, and Adventures from Toddlerhood - Bay Area Photography, Family

Thursday, September 3, 2009

As I put the finishing touches on the proof gallery for my dear friend, this photo really caught my eye. It may not be for everyone...but for me, there is something magical about it. Such a beautiful little girl, in such a beautiful setting....caught in a moment of concentration, thought. I just love it.

Photobucket

And a little taste of Isaac's adventures at the Children's Discovery Museum the other day (he had a grand time with his buddy, Nika)
