Ok You guys...did anyone feel the earthquake this morning??? YIKES!!! I know it was only 4.4 and all, but really....i'm not a fan :)

And finally, I am having a lot of fun editing my last session...because I love thse guys and also because i'm finding it really fun to do some urban processing on these images..something that I wouldn't normally do for our children/family stuff :)

Engagement Session - San Francisco Photographer

So, I had the best Saturday afternoon! I got to spend it with one of my best friends who just happens to be getting hitched to a pretty great guy in just a few months. We'd been talking about doing an engagement session with these two forever...and finally we made it happen! They chose San Francisco's North Beach area as the location. And those of you that have been to North Beach know there is no lack of fabulous colors, alleys, textures, etc....It's a perfect location for an Urban shoot, which is what we were going for and exactly what we got!

Life - Bay Area Photography, Kids

As soon as I took this photo I knew i had to share it on here..because this is so our life right now: The munchkin holding his beloved Thomas, wearing his favorite Thomas "Big Boy Pants" (Yes ladies and gents, we are in the thick of potty training!...wish us luck)...and jumping, jumping, jumping. Life is never boring, full of 'accidents', 'potty treats', "who's this and who's that", and other toddler fun. We wouldn't trade it for the world and are trying to enjoy every single second!



And then of course, i've got a few more of the little rascal from yesterday :)

7 Months - San Jose Kids Photography

Hi All, not too many words today (I hear Isaac starting to jump around in his crib which means nap time is over)...

But I wanted to stop by for a quick drive-by post about this little dude (you might recognize him from a few posts down). Anyway, he's almost 7 months!!!! And every chance I get, I photograph him of course...

(Oh, and for those of you that know us well...and our obsession with adorable hats for adorable boys...you'll recognize this hat as Isaac's from many many moons ago. In fact, he was about 3 months when we got it for him...yes, my kid has a big head :))

Anyway, here is my sweetypie nephew

Fathers and Sons - San Jose Photography, Family

Ok you guys! In my endless quest to create a blog header that I am actually happy with...I **think** I may have finally done something I like...I was thinking Spring is here, and I want COLOR!...soooooo, what's the consensus? :)


And in celebration of Spring....a few random family shots:

Here are a few outtakes from Isaac's V-Day session (did I ever post these shots?? I think I only did one)...anyway, here he is...looks like an angel, doesn't he?? If you only knew...that right after these shots were taken he took off into the park, angel wings and all and I was running after him with the camera, bow and arrow, suitcase and other props...Fun times :)




Now, here is something different....I've been cooking up some different recipes in my little digital darkroom...and I am thinking I love how this turned out. (it's an old shot of J...i think i may have shared a color version before)...(J, don't kill me for posting this~)


And finally, guess who flew his very first kite today???? Well, not so much 'flew it'...but rather ran after it :)

Colors - Bay Area Kids Photography

Well Hello Everyone! What do you think about this new background color? J has been playing around..trying some new things (fonts, colors, etc)...we figured it's almsot spring and maybe it's time to spruce up the ol' V&J blog. Still not set on anything, so you'll probably keep seeing changes....

Anyway, it's been a busy few days! There was a lot of driving involved..and spending time with family which is always fabulous!

OK! So we're putting the finishing touches on this little one's gallery...and because i've been asked to share some more (and NOT by her parents)....here are just a few ;)

Sweeeeeet Caroline! - Bay Area Children Photography

Hi Everyone! Are you ready to catch some major baby fever? I'm not joking! Yesterday, J and I had a really great session with the sweetest most beautiful little girl (and her mommy and daddy). Everyone always said that Isaac would make a perfect Gerber baby (and that's still true)...but this little munchkin really takes the cake!

I'm not kidding when I say she made our job SO easy. She smiled, she didn't fuss, she was totally happy....even though we tortured her with two locations, two backdrops, scratchy tu-tu's..etc.

S, J & C..thank you thank you! You were such a joy to work with...i can't wait for you to see your gallery..but for now, here are a few of my favorites so far. Enjoy!

So Isaac has an older cousin (4 months difference).


And these two love each other to pieces. They really do. They live a few hours apart...and when they do get to see each other..it's always an adventure.

Thomas and a Rainy Day - Bay Area Family Photography

Hi All...Isaac and I finally made it outside today after days and days of rain! There is nothing fun about a two yr old with LOTS of energy being stuck inside...it's good thing his best buddy (and cousin) is visiting us this week!

Anyway, just wanted to check in and say hello....and tell you about the little dude's new toy obsession: THOMAS! I mean, he loves trains in general (total BOY)...but Thomas holds a special place in his heart. Today, I said "Buddy, let's go use the potty" and he said "OK" and grabbed ALL his trains (see top left photo). It was so funny, i thought y'all might appreciate it too.

Love his little chunky, toddler fingers grabbing 4 trains :)


Stay dry and warm friends. I know I can't complain about the 3 days of rain especially for all your east coast/mid west readers (New Hampshire, New York, Virginia... i'm talking to you!).

Keep an eye out in the next wk for some cuteness that is NOT isaac :)
